Masao Ido was fascinated by the beauty of Kyoto and has dedicated his life to painting with the desire to "pass on the irreplaceable beauty of
Japan and the traditional art of woodblock prints to the next generation." He is an artist who is passionate about hand-carved and hand-printed woodblock prints, and has continued to protect and pass them on.
Artist Masao Ido acts as a painter when producing woodblock prints. "Artist" refers to the author. He dictates everything about his work, from composition to depiction to color. He is a ``carver'' who carves woodblocks based on sketches. He is a ``printer'' who mixes pigments and prints them onto paper over and over
again. It was finally completed after a rigorous examination of the color and print quality.
vinegar. Woodblock printing is always a stressful and time-consuming process, but it boasts a unique artistry that cannot be experienced anywhere else.
Unlike printed matter, woodblock prints are produced in limited quantities and are not available indefinitely. This is because as the woodblocks are printed over and over again, they wear out and their quality deteriorates, and eventually they are
discarded. Our uncompromising craftsmen limit the number of pieces they produce and put their heart and soul into them in order to release only the works
they are satisfied with. Painter Ido was a rare giant who inherited the traditional woodblock print culture.
