TATSUMURA,Heizo 1st was born as a grandchild of HIRANOYA,Hyobei who was the moneychanger at IMABASHI in OSAKA in 1876 His parents' home was a merchant and he was gronw up in an affluent environment. He enjoyed opportunities to acquire tea ceremony, calligraphy, seventeen-syllable verse , etc. Hewas given to good education, art and literature. Those days, he especially were skillful in seventeen-syllable verse and pursued learning its. A lot of works of Heizo received high acclaim because of its freewheeling pattern and coloration. Then he started to handle Nishijin-brocade that was said deluxe goods by the uncle's help. However, he got tired of sales of the woven goods that others made, it was not worth. Then he founded TATSUMURA TEXTILE Co. in Kyoto in 1906, and he started to research and make the technology of woven goods better. In addition, he designed new ways to weave called "KOURA-ORI", " GOBURAN-ORI" and "MUSEN-ORI" and he acquired some patents in these ways to weave. He accomplished the following leap with this.
