Visiting Shiramine
Just
before setting-up a website, I visited Shiramine, the producing center
of ‘USHIKUBI-TSUMUGI'.
A
tour to ‘ A Festival of Kaze-no-Bon' at Yao in Toyama Pref., which
was to be held Sept1 ~ Sept. 3 was held.
The festival was especially planned for the commemoration of the novel,
‘Kaze-no-Bon-Koiuta' or “Kaze-no-Bon Love Song” whose theme
was ‘ USHIKUBI-TSUMUGI' .
As
I had been thinking of visiting Shiramine, the producing center of
‘USHIKUBI-TSUMUGI', now that I'd be selling it . I felt need to
go there in order to have a confidence in selling it. The tour fell
on the good timing.
Mr.
Osamu Yakahashi, a Novel Prize author and Ms. Kyoko Mano, a movie
star joined the tour.
We
gathered at Haneda Airport . A tour escort from a tour company met
us at the airport and guided our party of ten people to Shiramine
by bus from Kanazawa Airport .
Shiramine
was situated in the mountain at the branch of Tedori River which was
running through the foot of spiritual Hakusan Mt. It was a quiet and
people village in the mountain valley.
On
the next day of our arrival, I met with President of Nishiyama Sangyo
Kaihatsu Co,Ltd. Fro the first time. At I was not sure what I was
and what I wanted to do with ‘USHIKUBI-TSUMUGI'.
Mr.
Nishiyama must have presupposed that I would sell ‘USHIKUBI-TSUMUGI'
as a part time for a housewife. But I explained my scheme so that
he could grasp my real plan.
I
knew then how important it would be to talk face-to-face. Mr. Osamu
and a beautiful lady, Ms. Kyoko Mano gave us a talk in front the party.
At
the night I was so satisfied with a lot of ‘USHIKUBI-TSUMUGI' and
participated in ‘ Kaze-no-Bon' festival. The festival was so fantastic
that I couldn't believe there was such a world.
I
was in to it with refined dance with musical instruments, at the same
time, I was drawn to the way local people at Yao was living their
life.
I
became friends with people in the tour party from Wakayama, Kyoto,
and Tokyo who were fans of ‘USHIKUBI-TSUMUGI'. They were saying
“ ‘USHIKUBI-TSUMUGI' is my lover.” , or “ I'm yearning
for it.”
Five
of us shared one room in which we spent through the night talking
about ‘USHIKUBI-TSUMUGI'.
I
felt so happy for the existence of the Kimono which had been attracting
so many people.
After
coming back home in Sept., my new days working on website began.
