My Real Vocation
At
the time of my graduation from college, due to scarce demand
of jobs, the job I was offered was a work for the Board of Directors
of Think tanks in the mid of Tokyo .
I
started my carrier as the secretary for the ‘Person of the
Day', who introduced P. F. Drucker, an American , who was famous
as an scholar on business studies at the time.
Since
then, only the job of mine was a secretary for presidents or
chairpersons of some organizations no matter where I worked.
Acquiring a certificate of a secretary license
later
on, I had been with the same types of profession for about twenty
years.
Though
my boss changed, what I did as a secretary had been receptive
and monotonous, which strove me to a more exciting work. That
feeling of mine gradually became stronger.
On
the other hand, I enjoyed my daily work. My two children grew
and went nursery school and kindergarten. My mother was kind
enough to take care of them very well.
My
husband and I left for work early in the morning and came home
late at night.
A
life of a ‘Two income family' had been established.
Those
days was the time when I started to have a vague misgivings
that I'd have to lose my job at the mandatory retirement age,
60 year old. At the same time it was the time when I begun to
wonder what other things I might be able to do.
One
day my boss at work suddenly quit his job to be replaced by
a new boss.
Now
the time came to' Take off' for me, thought I. But I had no
idea of taking off to where and how.
Now
my journey to look for ‘mySELF' started.
