16. Creating the Website

Now I bought a stock of ‘USHIKUBI-TSUMUGI'.

Next was preparation for selling them. As my problem was how I could sell…I got books on ‘ Net-Selling and read in them.

‘ Acquiring Domain' ‘ Deciding a rental Server' ‘ Naming the store' ‘ What about a telephone?' ‘Which home delivery service company?' ‘ Wrapping' ‘ How to make up account?' ‘ Shoud I do the Dressing?' ‘ A main bank?'

There were many things I had to deal with. I started from what I could take care of them. Among them, the most important thing was ‘ Appearance of the website shop'.

I bought a book on creation of HP. I challenged the language of HTML. It was hard for me as I had no knowledge of it.

So after much consideration , I decided to take lessons on HP-making at an institute called' Saturday DOT. COM' which was a Paso-Com School organized by Prof. Masaru Takaoka of Hosei Univ. and that was related to WWB Japan where I had once taken business seminar classes.

The school was different from regular ones in the way that it had a policy to train people who intended to establish companies.

Just to think of it, my encounter with WWB was lucky, too.

I started to learn HP- creation by Mr. Shibazaki's private instruction.

Setting up HP was very tough for me not only from a technical sense but also from content-wise.

Kimono is something of individual tastes and is expensive. How could I sell this valuable item by net?

Besides I knew practically no shop of this kind at hand. I was indistress for a long time. But thanks to Mr. Shibazaki , I was able set up the site anyhow. It was at the beginning of August. I showed the to-page I had made to my senior at OSMC.

They said, “ This won't sell Kimonos , no power to sell them”, and also one of OSMC members said, “ You could sell things costing 3000 yen, but not 300,000 Yen”

The page on which I showed my personal history with my picture was ignored by their saying, “ What of it?”

My self-made HP was totally denied.

I lost confidence. “ How can I produce the power to attract viewers? I never imagined its difficulty.

My distress continued for days.

Then I purchased a soft for HP and worked with it for twenty hours a day.

My time was not enough for all the works like changing the colors and sizes of the fonts, controlling the size of the pictures, the tone of their colors and studying other model samples of other websites.

With no knowledge of the way how I could clean up the sources of appropriate size of the fonts at the time, I just kept on doing by Trial-and –Errors.

I still could see the grope in the dark which had remained in the later source of the site.

I saw all the changes of the fonts, refinement of the table which had still not cleaned away.

My present day owes much to my past accumulated work. These times was when I was fed up with making HP, not having heard other people's voices, TV sounds.

I even couldn't remember if I had any descent meal.

May people worried about my heath and gave me calls, invited me to dinners.

But I had no time to do these things. Even one second of the time was precious.

Four months later, when I went to a beauty salon, I noticed how much my hai had been damaged. I couldn't but laugh at myself to see my damaged hair.

One time in those days, my son , a high school boy then, said to me, “ You look so happy!”
